Dayara Bugyal Trek
Experience the incredible beauty of the Himalayas on the Dayara Bugyal Trek, a scenic adventure through one of India’s most beautiful high-altitude meadows. Located at around 12,000 ft, Dayara Bugyal stretches across vast open grasslands that look magical in every season—covered in snow during winter and filled with colorful wildflowers during summer.
The trek begins from the peaceful village of Barsu, at around 7,545 ft, and takes you through beautiful oak and pine forests, along the Bhagirathi River, and across peaceful mountain meadows.
With its scenic trails and beginner-friendly routes, Dayara Bugyal is perfect for first-time trekkers, adventure lovers, and anyone looking to escape into the peaceful beauty of the Himalayas.
How the day runs
Day 1 : Dehradun to Raithal Altitude : 2,000 meters Trekkers will be picked up around 7:30 AM from Dehradun After gathering in Dehradun, we will drive towards Raithal via Uttarkashi, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way Upon arriving at Raithal village, a small hamlet nestled 20 meters above Uttarkashi, we will check in to our homestay, the starting point of our trek Following a quick introduction and briefing session with a representative, trekkers can unwind and prepare for the adventures ahead After a day of travel, trekkers will retire for the night, resting up for the journey to come Day 2: Raithal to Gui Campsite Total Trek Distance: 5 km Altitude: 2,898 meters The day begins with a breakfast before we embark on a 5 km trek from Raithal to Gui Campsite This stretch offers an easy trek, winding through beautiful oak forests, providing a serene atmosphere and stunning views Upon reaching the Gui Campsite, trekkers will enjoy a delicious lunch, re-energizing for the day's activities Enjoy some warm beverages and snacks by the campfire, sharing stories and relaxing under the stars Trekkers will spend the night at the campsite, embracing the tranquility of the mountains Day 3: Gui Campsite to Dayara Bugyal and Back Total Trek Distance: 4 km Altitude : 3,408 meters After a breakfast, we set out on a 3.5 km hike to the breathtaking Dayara Bugyal Upon reaching the Dayara Viewpoint, trekkers can take in the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. A packed lunch will be enjoyed here, allowing for a peaceful moment to relish the scenery After resting and soaking in the beauty, we begin our downhill trek back to the Gui Campsite Upon arrival at the campsite, visitors will gather for a delicious dinner, sharing experiences from the day and enjoying the warmth of the campfire Trekkers will spend another night at the Gui Campsite, reflecting on the day’s adventures Day 4: Gui Campsite to Raithal, then Travel to Dehradun Total Trek Distance: 5 km Altitude: 2,898 meters Total Driving Distance: 230 km After enjoying a breakfast, trekkers will descend back to Raithal village from the Gui campsite Upon arrival in Raithal, participants will embark on a scenic 230 km drive back to Dehradun via Uttarkashi Lunch and evening snacks will be provided at roadside inns along the way, allowing for a pleasant break during the journey Trekkers are expected to arrive in Dehradun around 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM, marking the conclusion of this memorable trekking adventure
